About
Dr Alex Crooke
I am a researcher, educator, consultant, and musician with 20+ years experience working across academia, health, education, and the arts.
My work focuses on helping individuals and organisations navigate complex research, institutional, and professional environments with clarity, integrity, and purpose. I have led international research projects, advised government and community organisations, developed university curricula, published extensively, and mentored researchers and practitioners at all stages of their careers.
Alongside my research and consulting work, I have spent more than two decades actively engaged in music and community practice as a DJ, beat maker, electronic musician, educator, and program facilitator. This ongoing involvement in creative and community settings shapes the way I approach research, strategy, and professional development - grounding theory in lived experience and practical application.
I have worked and collaborated with researchers, practitioners, artists, educators, and community organisations locally and internationally, building long-term partnerships that connect research, practice, and social impact.
At the heart of my work is a commitment to ethical, community-engaged practice that prioritises sustainability, wellbeing, and social justice. Whether supporting an organisation to evaluate a program, helping a school develop an arts strategy, or mentoring someone at the beginning of their research journey, my goal is to create pathways that are rigorous, meaningful, and human-centred.
